Union Sales Strikes at Five Atlantic City Casino
Bob McDevitt, President of Local 54, who states that workers made sacrifices as soon as the casino industry’s chips had been down and he wants these reversed.
Atlantic City is dealing with industrial action at five of its eight casinos, as workers voted overwhelmingly to strike on July 1 unless work agreement negotiations is resolved.
Members of Local 54 of the Unite-HERE union were 96 percent in support of the walkout at Bally’s, Caesars, Harrah’s plus the Tropicana. The union had already voted to authorize a hit at Carl Icahn’s Trump Taj Mahal last month, although it is not clear whether it will be within the July 1 action.
Meanwhile, Borgata, Golden Nugget, and Resorts have actually been exempted because negotiations are progressing, the union said.
Sacrifices Made In Atlantic City
‘Today thousands of workers from Tropicana, Caesars, Bally’s and Harrah’s voted to authorize a strike on July 1 should they don’t have a fair agreement,’ said Bob McDevitt. ‘we have told the ongoing companies that we are available days, nights, and weekends to negotiate.
‘The ball’s in their court, he added. ‘They need to provide these workers a fair contract. We quit a great deal when times had been bad, now they need to give back to us. that they are making money,’
The union is aggrieved since it believes workers have agreed to make sacrifices in the last few years even though the casino industry has experienced financial hardships, which it want (mais…)
Cryptocurrency Platform Ethereum Raided by Hacker, $50 Million Stolen
A hacker removed $50 million in Ether from the Decentralized Autonomous Organization, plunging investors into a panic, many argue that no theft has happened.
Ether, the currency that is digital was billed since the ‘next’ bitcoin, plunged in value on Friday when a hacker exploited a software flaw in the Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO), sending the equivalent of $50 million Ether into the ether and the cryptocurrency investment community into a panic.
If this sounds bewildering, we’ll make an effort to explain.
Ether is the currency supported by the Ethereum blockchain, a platform designed to provide greater flexibility for decentralized peer-to-peer-traded currencies than projects developed over the top of this bitcoin protocol. Ethereum permits the creation of ‘smart agreements,’ which enables all types of business transactions rather than just currency transfers.
The DAO is a totally leaderless organization built on the Ethereum platform and run entirely on computer code. It utilizes these smart contracts to create an investment capital fund devoted to sponsoring new cryptocurrency jobs. All DAO decisions are taken via a vote of its users who use electronic tokens, purchased with Ether, to register their vote. In this way, DAO had raised $162 million to aid investment fledgling projects.
But DAO members watched in horror, in real-time, on as a hacker exposed a software flaw to (mais…)

Rogue Chip Smuggler
Sands achieved this figure that is impressive incidentally, despite the revelation that among the casino’s dining table game supervisors was charged today with removing high-domination potato chips from the casino secreted in her bra.
Local girl Brandy Micheli-Cheatham, 44, had been spotted by eagle-eyed security staff stuffing six purple chips, each well worth $500, into her underclothing. She admitted to the crime after being apprehended by casino staff that has initially figured she had been just happy to see them.
Despite all the exciting interruptions down at the Sands, Adelson’s joint was not the surface of (mais…)
